The Brandon is gone!

Brandon Sign
This was the pub sign at the front of the Brandon Hotel in Carlton, probably Melbourne's finest hostelery. It features the emblem of Britannia: Boadicea wearing bells, dancing Morris, waving hankies and drinking beer. Sadly the Brandon is no more.

History

by David Purdue last modified 2007-03-08 05:21 Copyright 2006 The Britannia Morris Men

Ah yes, those days of yor! This is the section where you can read all about how The Britannia Morris Men came to be, and what we've been up to in the time we have been here.

Start with Sir Cedric Blunt's Early History of Britannia.

In 2003 we were much saddened by the passing of Derek “Drafty” Brown, but we were consoled by all the nice things people said to us.

Terry Pratchett came to Australia to promote a book, and while he was here he gave an interview on JJJ. Gail Miller, then Squire of the AMR, rang up and quizzed him on things Morris (warning - this is a 9MB MP3 file and will take a while to download).
