The Brandon is gone!

Brandon Sign
This was the pub sign at the front of the Brandon Hotel in Carlton, probably Melbourne's finest hostelery. It features the emblem of Britannia: Boadicea wearing bells, dancing Morris, waving hankies and drinking beer. Sadly the Brandon is no more.

Acoustic Music Venue in Williamstown by Simon Leverton — last modified 2007-06-13 05:30
Simon Leverton, Britannia's founding father (numero uno) and enthusiastic musician, in association with mate Greg Hammond and with support from the Newport Fiddle and Folk Club is starting up a new acoustic music venue in Williamstown. This will happen on Thursday nights, once a month, and will feature local luminaries as well as the occasional hot act from outa town. The venue, now a French-style creperie, was formerly a seaman's mission (yes, Danny S will get an invite sometime real soon) and is a beautiful setting for some laid back acoustic entertainment and a bit of froggie nosh and cider. we'd love you to join us some time. Opening night (31st May) flyer is attached.
Next Gig - Thursday 28 June, 7pm - Paul Wookey (139 Nelson Place, Williamstown, from 2007-06-28 19:00 to 2007-06-28 23:25) by Simon Leverton
Another great night's entertainment, featuring Australia's own balladeer Paul Wookey, with support acts Gerry Nelson and Greg Hammond. Great French food, superb music and stunning acoustics - Breizoz on Thursdays.
