The Brandon is gone!

Brandon Sign
This was the pub sign at the front of the Brandon Hotel in Carlton, probably Melbourne's finest hostelery. It features the emblem of Britannia: Boadicea wearing bells, dancing Morris, waving hankies and drinking beer. Sadly the Brandon is no more.

There be dragons in them tharr hills.

Join Brandragon Morris as they celebrate their fifth anniversary with a trip from Belgrave to Gembrook on the scenic Puffing Billy railway.

Friday evening we're meeting from 6pm at the Charles Dickens Tavern in Collins St, Melbourne, for a quiet(?) foot-up and distribution of Met tickets for Saturday.

Saturday we'll be taking the 8:30am train from Flinders St to Belgrave for a days outing on Puffing Billy, with foot-ups at Belgrave, Gembrook, and Lakeside. (See program below for further details.)

Luncheon fare on Saturday is available from various vittlers in Gembrook; we recommend the Ranges Hotel on past experience.

(Ed.'s note; The chef at the Ranges Hotel assures me he has a range of pub meals available; Pasta starts from $14 up to Seafood and Steaks at $25, Vegetarian meals are available on request, he assures me he's quite flexible; with vegetarian meals.)

Dinner, and the Ale proper, will commence at 7:30pm at the Duke of Kent Hotel, 293 LaTrobe St, Melbourne.

Sunday we'll recover with a quiet lunch at Fairview Park Reserve, (not Fairfield Boathouse!) Melway Ref 45 B12.

$50 Adults, $25 children or $120 family (2 Adults/3 Children or 1 Adult and up to 4 children)

This covers train fares from Flinders St, return passage to Gembrook on Puffing Billy, dinner at the Duke of Kent Hotel, Melbourne, and barbeque lunch Sunday.

(We regret there'll only be a limited tab on the bar Saturday night.)

(Tickets for non-Morris are $50 Adult/$40 Concession for the train trip and $25 for the evening.)
